Let Them Live was originally painted in 2019 and sold shortly after its creation. Since then it has taken on a new life as an art print and remains a beloved piece within my portfolio of selected works.

The image features a cosmic serpent cradled by dark, protective hands adorned with rainbows, offering lavender to buzzing bees, the vital pollinators of our beautiful earth.

I painted this work after hearing a story from a woman who confronted her lifelong fear of snakes when she discovered a small garden snake tangled and trapped in roots while she was gardening. Instead of turning away, she carefully cut the snake free and chose to let her live.

I think about this beautiful moment often. It reminds me of the quiet courage it takes to choose compassion over fear. I try to evoke this same sense of sublime and radical love each time I sit down to work.
